Victor Hugo, the original texter

By way of today’s episode of Ze Frank’s “a show”

Victor Hugo wanted to know how his book, Les Miserables, was doing.  So he wrote his publisher.  All he included in his letter was  a single character, a “?”  His publisher wrote back with a single character, a “!”  So little information, so much exformation, so much depth.

I look back over the one character texts in my last post and see, the exformation of communication. !    ?   K   N all convey meaning to be reconstructed by the correspondent.  I hadn’t identified though the information that is left out of communication as a distinct concept, despite the fact that I already use it.

If you’ve not seen Ze Frank’s work before, you’ve been missing out.  Here’s today’s show that talks about message content and exformation.
